CCB - 10/8/06
Got a late start this morning and didn't launch the boat until 10am out of Green Harbor. Fished all the way down to Barnstable Harbor and back. On the way down, multiple blitzes of both bass & blues.

Then on my way back, bass had a pod of bait trapped against the beach, literally. I was in 5-8' of water casting into shore. The only boat there for almost 2 hours.
After bailing scoolie after schoolie between 22 - 27", I decided to throw on a larger profile lure. My first cast and it was game on. Was using light tackle gear so what a fight!
If you look carefully you can see the tail of a pogie in it's throat. As it was eating this, it attacked my storm shad. 41", 27 lbs.

Ah Mike you are killing me as today was my daughters B-Day so no fishing. I just kept looking at how beautiful it was out today and just sighed. I am also booked tomorrow too so I guess I will shoot for Tues. or Wed. Did you have any luck in the Barnstable area? Nice photo's. Thanks Paul

Paul - not much going on between canal and barnstable, lots of boats at scorton ledge and entrance to harbor but no visible signs of fish. picked up a few schoolies jigging plastic.
Most consistent action was duxbury down down to scusset, majority in 10 - 25' of water. 1 hr til high tide and 2 hrs on the dropping tide were best.
It was enjoyable because I've never really fished that area before, simply travel past it to other places.

Storm Shad
Moses,
Nice catch, nice fish, nice pix. I have a storm shad
9 inch in my surf bag now all the time. This is my
first year into plastics and it was a storm shad that
got me that 44 lb mama bass last May. Don't leave
home without it.
Tight lines.

Nice fish Mike. Great pics. Lots of birds and about a dozen or so boats out side the East End this morning. Looked to be small fish.

Nice to know it's still on out there! I'm going to give you a run for your money next season once I get my boat in the water. I'm picking it up from my buddy this Sat.
