First Mass. deer for the freezer

Put another doe in the freezer last night. First Mass. deer of the year. We had 5 deer hit the feilds last night a big doe with two button buck skippers, a lone doe and a nice 6 point that hung in the woods till dark. I took the lone doe at 5:00 with a 15 yard shot she dropped at 30 yards in view from my stand. Hope to hit N Y again mid week as I still have a buck tag and Joe has a doe tag and the farmer has a few crop tags we can fill.

Sweeeeeet - tasty size!

Big bucks w/ a lot of horns aren't always the best eating. My last deer (rifle in CT on private property - yeah, it was lazy) was a 11 pt that was pretty old (forget now - around 6) tasted BAD. This guy was partially blind in one eye (must have caught an antler in it recently) & his body was small (~130 ish dressed). If I don't go this yr then it will be 4 yrs since I deer hunted. Just havent been in the mood..... miss the meat though.

When it comes to Deer Hunting, the racks always look nice, but you can't eat them. When I do go Deer Hunting, I always try for an either or tag.

Chris I called the local E.P.O.and told him what you said that they don't count and asked if I could have my doe tag back and he laughed and said that since my stand was in a tree that it would count as I was in the forest all be it just one tree. So unlike boat fish that never count unless its for the team cup then all is fair there is a way to get farm deer to count.. Now if I were to put up a metal pole on the edge of the feild it may not count . Wow then I could save my doe tags for gun season

A kid I work with had one run in front of his Jeep on the way to work this morning and almost came through the windshield !!!
Just a question,
If that were to happen to me, would it be legal for me to keep it ???
