You're right , that is horrible.

maybe the guy didn't even know it and just drove off. The story doesn't say but I bet the guy ain't talking or answering questions.

Makes me glad I sold my boat, lots of nuts out there.

The guy did not flee. He was bringing he boat back to the dock and then left for the hospital the check on his friend. Yellow Journalism at its worse.

He was being chased by the EPO, they were going 35 mph, he was going 80mph. They had their lights on and he refused to stop. The guy should not have had the boat in gear, while people were disembarking off of the swim ladder.
