Florida road trip

Well my Dad finally retired and I'm taking a road trip with him to Florida to get his car down there. This is gonna suck, 1352 miles in a Mitsu Spider convertible..
At least I'll be in 80 deg. temps and fishing for a week I'll post pics when I'm there.

Just got back from sanibel island area. Cought pompano, snapper, a milliong ladyfish and sheepshead. Also had a fish on for about 2 mins that I couldnt move on my cheapo uglystick freshwater rod. My guess is a snook or a big pompano.

I drove to FL once. ONCE. Never again. NEVER. EVER.
I was hired to drive from Revere,MA to Ft Lauderdale,FL in a GMC 24' box truck five speed. (On my vacation. Subcontract for a friend.)
I regretted my decision to drive down 1/2 way across the GW.
Gas engine not diesel.(55 MPH all the way)
And lights that didn't work. Daylight only.
And a car trailer. With things stuffed under the car on the trailer.
GVW 25000
I got stopped in a weigh station/chicken coop in NC at approximately 36000 lbs.
Five and a half tons over. $900.00 ticket.
"Truck don't move until the ticket is paid, BOY." NC takes Mastercard at the scalehouse.
Four horrible days.
First night was Aberdeen MD. Second was South of the Border NC,SC
Third was Jacksonville,FL (Where I called ahead and told them I want a 1-way ticket NON-STOP TO LOGAN ON THE FIRST AVAILABLE FLIGHT!)
Turned the truck off in Ft Lauderdale at 5:30PM and I was on a plane at 6:30.
The only two good parts of the whole trip were the night flight up the East Coast(clear skies over DC,Baltimore,Philly,NYC etc. Last time I saw the WTC)
And getting back to Boston and feeling cold air again.
I have no interest in ever going south of Foxboro again.
