The Calm Before The Storm!

Kind of quiet in here lately...(fish wise)......the suspense hangs thick like things are almost ready to break wide open! I for one can't wait!

Are you ready?

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Already got a 34" bass, saw a guy get a walleye on the fly. Someone I met recently got a 39" bass on the flyrod already.

I am so not ready, I am heading to Race next weekend to paint and clean the Keepers House, at Race Point light house, they need plumbing done to So I will bring my tools with me. I will also get my ORV sticker forTruro and Race Point. I sent my reels to Van Staal but that's it I have 4 penns to clean and pack with grease. I won't fish till May 15th when the stripers are up at a dam near me chasing alewife. I have had my fill of schoolies for a while

I cannot wait. I was out on the beach practice casting the new fly rod I got over the winter. Just standing there watching the waves with a rod in my hand made me feel sane again.

There are some great spring spots in CT... too bad for me I have no clue where they are. I never fish my home state.

Reels cleaned, greased and shiny from the WD-40... Lures are in a state of confusion until I get a new tackle system together, working on that tonight.

I don't know whether I should take a roadtrip to Southern RI this weekend for schoolies or go squidding. Anyone try squidding yet????

I need to fish bad! I can't wait much longer.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. ~John Buchan
