that was wicked Nasty....

i'll never forget an article i read about a wind blown seed that got
slammed into a kid's eye who was riding in the back of a pickup.

it got under the kids lens ,had moisture and light and began to grow...

hey too bad that fly wasn't barbless... huh?

Always wear protective eyewear while fly fishing. I met a guy a few years ago fly fishing who had a patch over one eye. Yep, you guessed it. You can buy low magnification reading glasses at a corner drug store for a few bucks, they're much better than getting stuck.

When I was in the 1st grade i had a dart fall into my eye from pulling some darts from a dartboard. I'll spare everyone the details, but imagine what your eye would look like after all the fluid leaked out..

OMG!!!!

That was hard to watch, but I made it through. Have had iron fragments in my eye twice, and that wazn't pretty then................

The good thang is that the guy didn't feel anything when they were doing that, and the eye is one of the fastest heeling parts of the body.

Will def be wearing glasses when windy, always were shades during the day.

older technology

i think has been replaced by lazer surgery now,,,

but there was a technique of removing your lens
chilling it... freezing it what ever....

then they put it in this tiny lathe and reshaped it...
then they sew it back on

We see these pics sometimes of alot(to many) fishers on jetty's bridges even a picket fence waist deep... its just an accident waiting to happen, another good reason to stay away from crowds.
