Football vz. Fishing

I was thinking today.. (I know, its dangerous)

...but isn't Fishing a bit like Football?

...I mean you wait so long for it, all of sudden its here....and whhhhhhooooooomp!!....it's gone!!

...I've been looking at the calender way too often lately, wishing September were here. Today, as that thought entered my mind I thought a bit further and said....DANG!..September is the beginning of the End! Before you know it...its time to pay Slip a visit ..and start making daily trips to the Plug Forum... But back to my analogy.

...I LOVE football...and its almost here. I LOVE the Fall migration and its almost here...Football has rules...so does fishing. Football has officials...so does fishing. Football has uniforms...so does fishing. Football players wear Korkers...so do fishermen. Football players run for hundreds of yards in a matter of a few hours....so do fishermen. Football has tackling....fishing has tackle . Football has PUNTS...fishing has SKUNKS . Football has quarters...fishing has tides. Football has pre-season...fishing has spring-schoolies. Football has blitzes....so does fishing. Football has a goal-line...fishing has Fire-Line Football has dropped passes....fishing has dropped fish. Football has helmet cams...fishing has...Fish_Eye . Football has fumbles....fishing has 'birds' nests'. Football has sacks... so do most fishermen. Football has fakes...fishing has plugs. Football doesn't get rained out...neither does fishing. Football players have EGO's..so do some fishermen. Football has heros.. ..so does fishing...and yeah, your my hero - just for reading my crap!!

...Some people tend to like the Spring arrival more than the Fall departure. I'm a Fall Guy. So-o-o much more opportunity! (I think-) ..but with weather like we're having today...as much as it excites me....its also a bit depressing thinking how fast-paced life is...and how it dictates what you do...and when your allowed to do it. I have the luxury of living close to saltwater(s)...and I know I plan on taking FULL advantage of it.
