I've had some good days this season, it's been pretty good, but I have also had some not so good days ... even a couple o' skunks which should not have happened, but that's fishing ...

I got my first keeper this past weekend, but overall I think I'm doing better than ever. I"m just getting skunked a helleva lot less than ever and the fish I"m catching are in the 24-28 inch range, as opposed to total dinks as in years past. I really just kicked it up into night time eel mode this past week, so we'll see...

Spectacular year overall.

Yet, another season with bass few and far between. This makes it interesting.

Be encouraging, not discouraging

Better from the yak with 4 keepers this year only kept one.All small bass and small blues from the shore though. This my first year with the yak if i didn't have it I would have to say this would have been my worst year for keepers ever.Allthough I haven't chunked or used live bait all year except eels twice.

I don't mean to be a wet blanket but I am having the best year I have EVER had. better than the 70s on the Cape. I don't know how many fish I have over 20. 100? 200?

10 fish over 30#. All on livelining bunker. Some days you get to the point where you say that this is "stupid fishing".
I do have to hunt for the fish as they are not everywhere at the sizes I am catching. I have been getting up at 2 every morning, snagging by 4-4:30 AM and then running to several spots where the large have been holding. I have had 1 skunk in all my trips since April.

BTW, YES I do have a job and work everyday. Not a hell of a lot of sleep but you can sleep in the Winter.

No boat, back in the suds.

pretty steady with 20-25lb fish from shore I keep fishing through them but I havent seen the size increase I'll just keep whittling away at them.

Domination takes full concentration..

Been about average on the number of keepers but most of the fish for me have been between 30-34" with a few fish topping 40.

About the same as last year when I've been out.Mid/Late May was good in the canal. For the last three weeks and next three weeks no fishing for me. Awaiting the arrival of Baby Beach. Will hopefully be back out mid by mid July. Until then I'm an internet armchair fishing hero. Should be at 1,000 plus posts in the next three weeks with all this time on my hands.

I've been all of 1 time so far this year, which I thought was pretty good for me. Got some good practice in, thats about it. The canal is still there, but the 1 time I went, the fish weren't. Summer has just started and better, more consistant fishin' should follow soon.

I started out great with decent numbers of good size keepers, but nothing really big. It's already been better than last year for me. Haven't been skunked yet. I'm going to give it a go again tonight and hopefully get the big one I've been looking for. Unfortunately for me, it's always a case of not having the time to fish as much as I would like to.

Up 'till about 10 days ago we were doing well, snap'n wire with Smile'n Bills. Early in the season we did OK also. But the last couple of trips we felt lucky to get a Blue. Tried Chunkin again...Dog Fish.

I have a friend coming down from upstate NY tomorrow, hope I can produce for him.

Absolutly great! Once the squid run slowed and the fish moved into the upper bay the fishing has been incredible. Being semi retired, I only work 25-28 hours a week now, I get out sometimes 4 trips a week. That gives me lots of chances to stay on the fish. Early I had lots of fish on the fly , with the big surface blitzes on silversides. Then when I switched to pogies to go after large,I found more and bigger than in the old days. It`s only the last few years that I`ve had a boat, so maybe thats the reason for the big improvement but I think it`s because of the bait.

It has been consistent for me, but consistently smaller fish than usual. Just can't find the size this year. I know they are around, I have both heard and seen them at a few big fish spots. I also know where there is a TON of bait consistently. I have my theories, but its too early to come to any conclusions yet. Still a lot of the season left before I get rattled.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. ~John Buchan

That's the ticket! The Bay has been red hot. I am certain that once the water warms up the Big Girls will head south to deeper, cooler water and then it will be a night time eel bite. Right now the pogies are still here and the water is still cool enough to hold the "Ladies".

No boat, back in the suds.

Been MIA all week Dave. Bad cold and busted up from fishing too much without a break. I'll be "you know where" tomorrow morning about 4.
