The only time Sustains ever go on sale is when the model itself is going to change one way or the other. Sale price itsn't that good of a deal.

That's the only time that Shimano ever lets them go on sale--they're price controlled
Or when a dealer isn't going to stock Shimano products any longer--which obviously isn't the case with Cabelas.

Stradics and Sustains are getting updated, so definitely, these are closeouts.
Kind of a sneaky model change too, I'm glad I wasn't too deep in them.

They're being updated from S-Concept to the newer S-R Concept.I read it an article on the Net sometime back.I'll try to find it and post a link.
Can we say more expensive?
I'll stick with the Spheros.

Last week I got a notice from Shimano .
They had taken them off the Top Shelf program and are no longer price controoled.

Mike are you saying that all the suppliers they took the Shimano product away from are now going to have them in stock again?

Trickle down of the Jap market only reels.
Same thing with the Calcutta Conquests and the Calcutta TE's
I still think the Conquest is a better reel though.

Why bother?
The Spheros fills that niche already.

NO. They are either going to do a running product change. Either a new version coming out or they know if they keep the old prices that the shops will wait for the new version instead.
Or they are not selling because of product competition and need more dealers that are not on the top shelf program to hopefully carry the reels.
