canal 9/9

Fish came through (scattered schools) for about 45 minutes about an hour after the turn east. Feeding on tiny bait. So, they are there but again, very picky. Will give the early morning tides a shot this weekend.

Picked up a bunch of 24" - 27" schoolies with 1 33" mixed in on Friday night. Schoolies are definately getting bigger. All fish came on a black Mag crystal minnow. Got a Darter mangled up on a bluefish on saturday night.

We fed the bluefish last night with eels.. we blasted thru the 1/2 doz we brought before the tide changed, so we were screwed.

I was soaking mackerel all day Sat. myself no luck. Saw a brief blitz of stripers very close to shore but were gone before I could get a line in and take weight off. I now officially have no faith in the incoming Canal tide. Strictly high slack to low from now on.
