North Shore/Gloucester

Anything still going on up there or is it dead. I will be up in the area for 7 days for business and was wondering if it was worth bringing the rod?

plenty of mackerel around. Smelt fishing should be picking up soon. Bass? There is usually a pod of schoolies or two that hang around into November.

I got the skunk the past three times save for a crappy dogfish and that was almost two weeks ago. I'm scared they've moved on.

The merrimack river still has bass, granted they are SMALL, but a 14" fly rod caught bass still outfights a stocked rainbow of the same size...

A few schoolies around the harbor and the Atlantic Ave area. Not anything to write home about. Going to go to some of my scuba divng haunts tonight.
