Cape Cod Bay Tuna's ????

I keep hearing alot of chatter that Cape Cod Bay is loaded with BFT? And these guys are hitting spinning gear tackle? I don't have any real heavy spinning gear, with a penn 5500 being my largest (so that's out). I do have some heavier conventional gear though. Are these fish only hitting plugs, or is drifting bait a possibility? How about trolling spoons?

I also would like to know the best launch ramp to put me close to the action. I would be coming up rte 195 on the Ma/RI line. I don't know the Cape area that well.....so if you have directions it would help.....

Thanks

I am thinking about Sandwich Marina?

Mrmacy -- I'll need some assistance as well. I plan to fish Sunday also off my Whaler. 179 and I regularly go out off PJ together. Please PM me with details on where the ramop is, what time you're going out, etc.

Thanks.

Van & Saucey,
I am going to pass on the Cape Cod trip tomorrow. I just checked the weather forecast and they are calling for 2-4' seas up there. It's a little too far to tow if the conditions are not right. I did call up Sandwich Marina to ask him what was happening up there and he told me the fish had moved further north close to Chatham waters.

I received an e-mail from a friend of Saucey and I who said that the Mud Hole in RI is loaded with BFT right now. Again unfortunately it's 2-4' seas for tomorrow. I will be out looking for a little striper action along South County. I hope if you guys do go out you will hit big... I'll me monitoring 69....

Thanks 179. I'll let you know how we do. Was down at Snug today picking up a flat of b'fish. Guys coming in told me they really got slammed today in high seas. 3' 5' were more like it.

Al at Snug confirmed the BFT action at the Mhole has been hot lately. Leader shy though, I hear.

Well, when I got up sunday the seas were awesome flat.

But.... It was the wife's birthday and if I ever want to go fishing (or walk) again I did the right thing and spent the day with her.
I did not even talk about the boat or fishing (quite a feat!).

But.... I am blowing the day off tomorrow and going out with my buddy. We will first look for tuna, then do some topwater fishing if they show). End the day with chunkin for big momma bass..

Anybody hear about the BFT showing this past weekend???

Went out on Sunday. Seas were 2' - 4' so I never ventured too far out of Plymouth harbor. Did not hear of any tuna sightings over the VHF, so I assume it was slow.

Played around with bluefish schools all day. Had a blast on really light tackle (poppers and 5 lb test.)
