The oldest Needlefish Plug still being made

Here are a couple of advertisements for Boone Needlefish from the late 1950s. The 1957 reference is the oldest I have found (so far).

Are or were? I find it hard to believe that you can't get a MUCH better made needlefish now that has a similar action/non action and profilie. A Gag's needle comes to mind in terms of visual appearance. How does a boon fish because they look like junk when I see them in a shop?

I have several OLD ones.

They've actually been re-finished by a friend of mine that builds plugs.

I always have 1 in my bag.

Don't know about the newer ones though.

A couple of them were from my grandfather.

The screw eyes must be fairly tough if they're still holding up long enough to make it worthwile refinishing them. Especially if you're fishing in hell. That's cool if they're still catching for you. I guess it is all about what you have confidence in.
