Please do so only from forward of amid-ships. I usually have lines out over the stern or am casting from the cockpit towards the rip or shore.
Thanks

I don't think it is a waste of time. If you can find a place where fish hold up and that is fish-able go for it. Rough conditions are good. If you load up with 50'b of weed on the 1st cast...call it quits. I generally tend to do pretty good in extreme conditions.

Severe Weather Alert from the National Weather Service

...BARNSTABLE MA-BRISTOL RI-DUKES MA-NANTUCKET MA-NEWPORT RI- SOUTHERN BRISTOL MA-SOUTHERN PLYMOUTH MA-WASHINGTON RI- 950 PM EDT TUE OCT 15 2002

EAST TO SOUTHEAST WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE TO 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 50 MPH POSSIBLE ALONG SOUTH COASTAL RHODE ISLAND AND SOUTH COASTAL MASSACHUSETTS BY MIDDAY WEDNESDAY. THE STRONGEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO OCCUR BETWEEN 10AM AND 5PM WEDNESDAY...AS AN INTENSIFYING STORM TRACKS NORTHEAST ALONG THE MID ATLANTIC COAST AND REACHES LONG ISLAND BY EVENING.

USE EXTRA CAUTION ESPECIALLY IF TRAVELING ON THE BOURNE AND SAGAMORE BRIDGES ON CAPE COD...THE BRAGA AND BRIGHTMAN BRIDGES NEAR FALL RIVER...AS WELL AS THE JAMESTOWN...NEWPORT AND MOUNT HOPE BRIDGES ACROSS SOUTHERN RHODE ISLAND.

STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS WILL EASILY BLOW ABOUT LIGHTER ITEMS SUCH AS TRASH CANS AND LAWN FURNITURE. SMALL BRANCHES MAY ALSO FALL TO THE GROUND.

BOATERS AND FISHERMEN MIGHT CONSIDER POSTPONING THEIR OUTINGS WEDNESDAY DUE TO THE HIGH WINDS...OR PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION ON THE WATERS.

A WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BE 31 TO 39 MPH OR GUSTS WILL RANGE BETWEEN 46 AND 57 MPH. WINDS OF THESE MAGNITUDES MAY CAUSE MINOR PROPERTY DAMAGE WITHOUT EXTRA PRECAUTIONS. MOTORISTS IN HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES SHOULD USE CAUTION UNTIL THE WINDS SUBSIDE.
