Question Shopsmith for Plugs?????

I have access to a Shopsmith Mark V w/lathe. Can I use this to turn plugs? The tools with this are 16" long. Seems big to me, but I've never done any lathe work. Since I'm inexperienced, would I be better off getting a Delta Midi or a small Grizzly??????? I'd love to use this, since there's no expense. Please enlighten me. Thanks

Shopsmith should be fine. Alot of people get the midi lathes to save room. I like those Shopsmiths and you can turn bigger non-plug projects(If you'll ever have time for anything but plugs...you'll see.)
