What size drill bits do you guy us when you dril thru. I have turned some really nice lures but, I am confused on what size drill bits to use and have no clue on what size or type of wire I should use.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I start out with a 1/16 brad point bit from both ends then go to a 1/8" to finish up. wire is 316l sst or 308 sst in 3'lenghts.

I get the wood from
Toby, I just buy the replacement shafts for rakes and other yard tools they are inexpensive, they have them in variety of sizes, and they are very good types of wood and another plus is one end is already tapered. I buy them from Highland Hardware On Hamden st. Right up the road from elizurs. Its right off the rotary coming from south hadely. I am gonna check out Habbermans for some wire today or tommorow.

wire for plugs
I work at ABCO Welding supply...
I have several people purchasing wire for plugs. The wire is
316L grade tig wire in 36" lengths it comes in various diameters 1/16" being the most popular. we sell it by the pound... 316 grade is best for the saltwater stuff...
stop in, I'll set you up with a discount for any Striped-Bass member...
