Carnival Cruise (fishin?)
Hey Guys!
My Family and I are going on Carnival Cruise
(Triumph-One of thier newest ships) In Late Feb 03 .. We will be going for a week,
((From, Miami-to- Cozemel(mexico) , Grand Caymon, Ocho Rios (jamaica) ... with a day at sea in-between..))
Anyways,, i will have the oppertunity to take a 3hr fishing charter if i want,, has anyone fished these tropical waters ? and i know it is 85º + in Feb in them areas,, so will they have fish still ? (i will also scuba dive at cozemel, hope to see some fish)
Obviously there is no stripers and blues , or am i wrong?
I would like to catch a dorado , that possibe around there?
thanks in advance

Yes i have fished those waters. depending on what type of charter you want to do and how much you want to spend. you can do blue and white marlin and sailfish, fishing usually full day charters, also you target wahoo, yellow fin tuna ( alison), dolphin ( mahi-mahi, dorado) there are also reef fishing charters, anchor up over a reef and you can get all kinds of snappers, groupers, barracuda and million other reef fish. i will be fishing the bahamas in february for blue marlin.

thanks alot!
It is still a while away so we didn't book any charters yet, but the cruise is all set!
Marlin ,huh? you think we could hook up with one on a 3hr Charter ? and what place should i spend the charter on ? (Ochos Rios-jamiaca/Cozemel/grandcaymon/miami) ??
this will be great even if i catch a Dorado (mahi-mahi) i will surley post of pictures of the charter when i get back!
Then when i get back march 1st..... Spring Fishin is right around the corner, have to start re-paintin the boat and all..
Thanks for all replies,, i appreciate it!

just fish
Go for it you will have fun no matter what you catch. We have taken a cruise every spring for the past 6 years and the last time I took a charter out of St Marten for a day and we had a great time. Only thing is I would not go for marlin just ask them to get you into what ever is around at the time or you can spend the whole day trolling and getting nothing. We caught some nice Mahi-Mahi after spending most of the day chasing mariln with out a bite. We told them to get us in to some fish a thats what they did. Good luck and have FUN. Go to stingray city at Grand Caymon you will like it.
