Salt & Fresh

My friend and I took our sons to the local pond and a few minutes in I hook a bucketmouth on a shiner. This thing was 5+ lbs easy and dove under an irragation pump that is used to flood the cranberry bog. I waited him out with a tight line as the kids were going nuts to reel him in but I didn't want to snap the line pulling him from under the pump so i just waited for what felt like an hour but actually was probably a couple of minutes and he took off again. We caught 3 more half his size. Camera phone dosn't show the size of his mouth. I could have put 2 fists into him easy. Fun catch on the fresh gear. Later on I fished a popular Dux spot and managed 2 schoolies 25" & 26" drifting chunks. Lost another good one on a bad knot after a long run. That one was frustrating cuz I had atttacted a little audience and we all gave a huge sigh after the knot snapped. Fish was decent and made my 8' Ugly stick with 20lb mono bend all the way over. I haven't had a nice day fishing in awhile so this was long overdue.
