New Canal Cruiser and a treat...
With a lot of talk and pics of canal bikes I decided to join the ranks. Luckily I have a brother who is really good a rehabbing bikes in his spare time. So Keeperreaper picked up this fixer-upper from 5/0 a few weeks back. I dropped it off at my brothers place and he and his "assistant" worked on it.....

Hey, a Specialized isn't a beater bike by any means. Nice find.
How is it swinging your leg over the back with the rod holders angled back like that? I've always used girls' step-through bikes for my Canal ride, but it's tough to find one with a big enough frame for me to pedal comfortably, even with the seat extended as far as possible. I was thinking that a large men's frame, and angling my rod holders back like that, would be a better way to go.
You don't get to test ride the assistant, I take it

Yea mike, the angle seems to work fine. Instead of swinging my leg back, I just step over the frame, its not too bad.
...and yes, the only thing that I have test ridden is the bike.

That definitely isnt photoshopped. I've seen the "ASSistant" in person. Let me tell you that is only one of a long list of assistants.

If I had an assistant like that I would never finish anything and probably not leave the house, except perhaps to make a liquor store run.

I dunno Larry that seat looks a little pink around the edges. Kinda like it's been ridden hard and put away wet
