Derby Photos
Thanks to Rick Hern for inviting PaulS and I over to MV for a couple days. Conditions were pretty rough with the Hurricane just off shore on Sun Night. We managed to find some fish and had a great time exploring and trying out the wetsuits. On Monday the swells were huge and the sky was blue. We wanted to find some rocks to swim to during the day so we could fish that night. We found some perfect rocks and then decided to do the death march. I got some good shots of us rockhopping on the march. I was beat after pulling an all nighter the night before and wasn't sure I was going to make it back to the lot. Besides Rick is a Junk Collecter and I being the youngest was the designated mule on the way back. Anyways here are a few pics of the trip. Thanks for a great time Rick and Paul. Oh yeah can't forget "The Man Upstairs" .

With the surf so rough and the wind blowing the curl we thought we were on the West Coast for a moment.

First time swimming to the rocks. I have wanted to for the longest time and finally got a chance. Couldn't believe how easy it was to swim. We had one slight problem at night. The tide was about a ft higher and we couldn't find the rocks right away. Rick and I were out there for 10-15 min, using our poles as blind man canes. That was interesting to say the least.

Great Pics Casey, thanks. And thanks for not mentioning me s#^^^^^&g air for 15 mins after the swim before I could cast! Had a blast with you guys, both very hardcore. Paul, you won 4th place daily, as did Casey the day before. Good job guys. I am still picking away at the fish, same spot, same size.

I didn't mention it but you can see it in the last pic. How about me on the way back from the march. I was almost a casualty.

Awesome shots!
Oh man, now you've done it - it's 5:00 AM and I'm gonna be putting on my waders and taking a spin to one of my favorite UDL's in exactly 30 minutes for the morning bite
Sounds like a great trip - I'm jealous but after a march like that I probably would've ended up on a gurney wearing an O2 mask
Good job!
