Need a new rod

Looking for a rod (spinning) to match up with my Stradic 8000fh. Mainly for the canal and jigging 3-6oz jigs, sluggos, metal (spoons, cripled herrings, etc. and what not). I am using 50-65 PP exclusively (with 50lb flouro leader). Would prefer it to do decent with some plugs and topwater if possible but jigging will be 90% of its main use. Dont mind spending a little, say up to $250ish if you think its worth it. Thanks in advance

maybe you can look for a used XSRA 1205 Lami

It'll be tough to cover all that in one stick. Lami 121 3m will do it all if you want glass.

Id say xra 126 1mh or 121 3m. good luck. the 1205 is a little light for 6oz jigs like you mentioned.

I'm pretty sure that is gone... and if I lived in a normal house it would have been mine. Nice rod! Not what you want for a 90% heavy jigging stick anyway.

I'd second this, it's a great stick that will throw just about anything if you ask nice. Yes, it's a meat stick but you can pole vault without worry and it's lightening friendly.

Best part is you could get a custom wrapped for under your budget.

Really--it doesn't have metal guides? It doesn't have line carrying salt water between those guides? Ever hear of electricity arcing across a gap between metal conductors?

Even you are not lightning friendly. Your body is mostly saline based fluids that conduct electricity. There's no such thing as a lightning friendly fishing rod.

One of my pet internet peeves is people who suggest that it's safe to fish in a lightning storm with a fiberglass rod

I don't think I ever suggested fishing in a lightening storm.

That being said, I'd much rather have a glass stick than graphite if there was any question.

I happen to be terrified of lightening, just ask RIROCKHOUND

Thats just a blank right? Where would I find something like that? I know I didnt mind spending some money but what do you guys think about the tsunami airwave rods?
