Tog Help

I have started to seriously fish stripers this year but have never caught a Tog. I don't want to spot burn but does anyone know any areas around Boston or Plymouth and what are some techniques in catching them.
Thanks Channell99

For the most part, I think you need to be Buzzards Bay and south. They do range north of there but area lot fewer.

As John said your chances to catch them are the further south you go. Buzzards bay and RI has some good togging every fall. Nows the time to go.

Find a chart, look for rocky bottom preferably reefs.

I use crabs cut in half. Pull the legs and claws off and run the hook through one of the leg holes. I prefer smaller hooks and use scup rigs. When you feel a hit drop down, count to three and pull straight up. Don't jerk it though. Then hold on!
