Clad in his "Black Hull" fishing cap and matching jacket, Raider Ron is the hit of the Fall season as he reconnoiters the beach for flying fowl and breaking fins! Its not all about the fish.....its about looking good while you fish and Ron does just that!

Though looking good and being comfortable is important, being well equipped for your trip is essential these days and in this economy one does not have to splurge! The well equipped surf fisherman can accomplish the task with a Shimano Spheros 5000 spooled with 50# PowerPro Braid and all this mounted on a state of the art graphite surf rod.......-4 inches from the tip......custom does not have to cost when you don't clear the bridge with your rod in the boats rod holder! Rounding out this working mans gear is a budget plug bag from the Army/Navy store and a custom made BigFish Bait Co. 2.5 oz. Pencil Popper....look good, feel good and fish great in your new Surfcasting Fishing Ensemble coming to a bait and tackle shop near you this Fall!

Ron and I hit the Cape today looking for anything from the surf but had no luck as the wind was brutal on the backside! Saw lots of birds crashing off the Race.....lots of birds......but nothing in close. We did happen to see 3 what appeared to be sharks finning up into Wellfleet Harbor??? Thats what they looked like anyway near as we could guess! Fun time anyway and I showed Ron a few tricks fishing plugs. Good time Ron....we will get them next time!

Awesome post Larry! Good writing and the photography was awesome. Ok and I'm comortable enough with my heterosexualism to say that Ron you look pretty good! I would have loved to have seen him take a wave to that jacket though! Is it leather?

BF, sounds like you saw the same thing(s) I saw in Wellfleet harbor a few weeks ago. I came away thinking it was a pilot whale, definitley could have been a shark
