900 billion dollars the new mesiah wants and the best that will occur is that twelve cents on the dollar will actually go towards bailing out what needs bailing out. Divine intervention is what we need now.

after reading Harry Markopolos' testimony regarding the Madoff Ponzi scheme. I'd like to see the SEC get its house in order before pouring anymore money that flows their way.

I agree, that is nuts. I have so many questions on the Maddoff stuff.
All those people that invested with him, didnt their accountants need some type of statements for dividends or cap gains each year? Basic stuff that should have raised SOME questions.

RIJ it is fascinating. Hollywood will make some $$ from the Madoff scheme that is for sure. I even have a title for them "No Questions Asked"

If you consider the goal of jobs created I think the bailout money would cost about 250k per job created. Money well spent. Ya, I trust these idiots to turn the economy around.

Why aren't there any flag-waving, slogan-chanting supporters touting their praise for this great econimic salvation?
Oh, it's probably because they just got sh*t-canned and are in the unemplotyment line waiting for their own "stimulus package".
When you runa campaign without ever disclosing what you campaign is about, other than change, you can't seriously be surprised when this kind of crap happens, can you?
I guess the "change" we were all to believe in was a "change" to our economy, our country, and our future, and they're all heading down the crapper!
