RISAA also scheduled a beach clean-up for April 18th. I'm a little foggy on the particulars, but areas include Galilee and East Matunuck as well as spots in the Bay. Bob Moeller coordinates this event.

Cub Scouts @ Buckeye Brook on Saturday - hopefully no beach whistles to explain to the kids.

Chris - I missed your post. As the people here are pretty spread out, perhaps the best way to help is to pitch in and assist other organizations that are doing clean ups. This is what we've done and supported for a few years.

But we should dangle a little carrot.

For all of those doing beach cleanups on next weekend, state on this thread where you are going and for what club. On the following week, confirm you did a cleanup (minimum of two hours) we will draw 3 winners for some plugs. Any club, any locations.

I worked the Salisbury clean up for 2 days 7 hours, mostly putting up fence and planting beach grass. Then cooked hotdogs for the whole crew both days.

We had about 20 scouts cleaning along an area near Buckeye Brook. Cleaning plus a cool lesson for the kids on the Watershed and why things are important to take care of.

Thank you Patrick and thank you for so graciously allowing me to use that fantastic new grill.
I seasoned it all up for ya.
Now I have to rest up for Chapin and Sandy Neck.
I'm gonna bring a hammock and watch you cook the dogs with my feet up!

John, I found several beach whistles while cleaning up...both the blue and the pink ones. I tried both ends, but they wouldn't make any noise with them.

Did the NCSWFC clean-up on the Drive last Saturday - it was me, Iron Mike, In the Surf, Janette & Frodo, and other members -

Iron Mike was driving the city truck for collection - he was also the trail boss...

We did pretty well, even found a couple of old plugs - Mike got an old beater and I found a beaut under a washed up log -

The Iron Man got photos - boy was he bummed when he saw what I found - even I couldn't believe it - he wasn't right for the rest of the morning...

If I see him tonite at the club meeting I'll get his camera so I can post the pix -
