Red, I miss the Living Room and the ''old" Lupos. Started going to Lupos as a sophmore in high school . Saw some great bands at both. Rainbow, Molly Hatchet, Black Flag, Foghat, Bon Jovi(it was the '80s) , Roomfull of Blues, The Machine, Physical Grafitti.

Anybody ever been to Club Babyhead? I saw IceT and Body Count at Babyhead with the entire Providence Police force waiting outside I'm not into rap but that was an incredible show. Thank God my hobbies have become more family orientated

Ahh - great Floyd tribute band!

The Rat, the Channel, all of the Father's bars (I worked at Father's Too for a couple years ), and all of the Allston/Brighton dives ...

No, but I was the only white guy at the Nickelodeon for the PreScreaning of "Boyz in the Hood" - that was interesting - but a great flick and a great crew I went with. My ex-fiance used to DJ the morning program at WILD. I used to joke that she was the only whit Jewish girl in America DJ'ing a Rap station

Thumbs up PINK FLOYD

WOOHOO. I can remember parts of those days !!!

"Hopelessly passing your time in the grassland away !!!"

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want
He makes me down to lie Through pastures green
He leadeth me the silent waters by.
With bright knives He releaseth my soul.
He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places.
He converteth me to lamb cutlets,
For lo, He hath great power, and great hunger.
When cometh the day we lowly ones,
Through quiet reflection, and great dedication
Master the art of karate, Lo, we shall rise up,
And then we'll make the bugger's eyes water.

From Animals:::: remember the SHEEP !!!

I don't know exactly where I fit in agewise here, but that 50 year old Pat Benatar thing made me feel a little older. Then I remembered back to about 25 years ago in 1978, a club called the Compass Lounge on the Cape. Heard this great band, even bought an album they were selling for probably ten bucks. Right after that summer the Cars became one of the hottest bands in the nation.

Bonrattis(sp way off??) or something that sounds like that. Where are all my brain cells when I need them!

How bout the Last Call Saloon in Prov. Some good blues up in there.

I saw Jimmy Hendrix's drummer - Mitch Mitchell at the Red Brick Tavern in Providence.

How could anyone listen to disco in the '70s when you had Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin, Lynard Skynard, the Stones, The Who etc, etc, etc coming out with new albumns and tours. That was the best rock era ever. DISCO????

Disco = Today's HipHop & Rap?

Nahh, when I'm out fishing in the suds, I'm usually humming some Pink Floyd. You'd be amazed how "Wish you were here", Comfortably Numb" and "Welcome to the Machine" can tune the brain in to prepare for a hit (of Fish, come on now!)

3rd Album I ever bought was The Cars, right after paper route saved up enpough for a turntable...

Other good places:

Harpers Ferry
Play it again Sams
The Silly (tough for music though)
Grat Scotts (but a bit newer)

It's funny you should mention the groups you did. I live in that era as far as my listening preferences, and I don't know the difference between Averil Lavine and InSync. But twice recently while we were driving along, I played some classics (Freebird and Aqualung) and when they were over and we were half deaf from cranking the volume, my 13 year old said they were "awesome" and asked were they new groups. She couldn't believe it when I said the songs were older than she and her sister's ages combined........ "What song is it you wanna hear?"
