Anyone here caught one? Don't be modest.
I know about Redlites last year, and #^^^^^^& the previous year (with a 60 as a chaser) anyone else?

I was eeling of MV about 5 or 6 years ago and got a 35 lber and when it was about 20 feet from the boat we saw a nice big shadow following it so my buddy lobs his eel out and sure enough it was a 53 lber. The only time I have ever regretted catching the first fish. Hoping 2009 is the year for me.

43.5 Pounds is my biggest... I swear I broke off an upper 40# (MAAAAAYBE 50) last season when I simply could not turn the fish before it went into the boulders... But you know how it goes... the big ones are all 50's when you lose them....

My biggest ever was 32LB, and I know that it was pure chance. My best that I think I put myself in the position to catch is 27lb, as I caught it on the same tide I had caught 22-25 lbers for the past 4 nights. Although it is probably just chance that the same tide carried the same fish for 5 nights in a row?

A thread I can contribute to!
58 pounds, 9 ounces, throwing eels on a 14-pound test spinning rig in 5 feet of water, October 2005 (25 pounds better than my 2nd biggest). Biggest bass in The Fisherman contest that year, almost won a 24 foot Triton. I was devastated that I din't win the boat, I was already looking at marinas and electronics and planning vacations...It especially stung because the guy who won the boat, put it up for sale on the Internet, I had to stare at that classified ad for a year. Made me want to vomit, as my bass was bigger than his!
I was with a charter captain, I asked him how rare a fish like that was to a guy on the water every day. I'll never forget his response. He told me if I ever caught a bigger fish, he would ...ummm...perform a certain adult act on me at the shopping mall on Christmas Eve. That has me conflicted, as I'm not sure what to root for.
That weight was 8 hours after being caught. Could it have been 60 when alive?
