Disposing of old gas

Found a container buried deep in the brush.Has about 2gals in it and for all I know this stuff could many years old.

I trolled the RI Gov/Dem sites and found no useful info on disposal.

So the big question is...how to get rid of it?

Call your local town garage. They almost all have some sort of collection plan. The town garage has to dispose of their used oil , etc legally and they usually allow people to bring stuff that gets disposed at the same time their waste does.

Whenever I have old gas I put it in my mower. That is like gas that I had over the winter. For very old I would turn it in at the town recycle center.

The town should advertise a few times a year when they collect hazardous materials. My biggest concern would be making sure it's just gas.

talk to the town or local DEP office. I wouldnt use it in anything in case its contaminated or full of water. Not worth your engine.
