Cape Cod 6/4 and 6/5

Spent last week in the deep woods of Maine fly fishing for big brookies and landlock salmon. We had a great week up there with brookies up to 21" and salmon to 20". Took some pictures, but they are not Stripers so I won't post them here. My buddy Matt had never caught a keeper striper on the fly, so I had him stay at my house fr a few days and wanted to take him for his first. We were in the woods in ME from Sunday through Wed. My father, Capt. Art runs FinFun charters, he had a charter the day we got home and gave us some great intel on the fish. We fished 2-4 FOW sight fishing to thousands and thousands ofstripers from 32-40". Here are a few pictures...

Capt Art had two charters earlier this week and got into the same numbers of fish, but he reported that the bigger girls have moved in as well. Can't wait to get out again!

Travis, is that a Jones Brothers Cape Fisherman? If so,what size is she? Looks big, like a 23.

I have my downeaster for sale and I am considering a JB CF 20 or maybe 23 when she sells. Care to give me a boat report on her?

That is the JB Cape Fisherman 21' Light Tackle Edition. I have been on many many different CCs in this size range. I couldn't say enough good things bout that hull, it is awesome. She sips fuel with 150 HP Yammi 4strk. Does it cut through the rough stuff like a 21' SeaCraft, no, but a SeaCraft needs a bigger engine, eats up more gas, and won't allow you to get into the shallows. I can get her trimmed out skipping along in calm seas, and when it gets nasty, trim the bow down and drive through the chop. I have personally had this boat in 7 to 8 foot seas...I wouldn't recommend it, but I was determined to fish with my wife on our first anniversary, so we did. It was a slow ride and we were in CCB, but she handled it nicely, just had to keep the bow into the swell. I reallyc ouldn't say enough great things about this boat, she is a dry ride and very versatile. Let me know if there is anything specifc you want to know.
