i've been doing the run and gun thing for them w/ modest success. want to try trolling more for them this year. i've got an assortment of small swimmers. does 4-6 knts sound about right? how about a fly trailer, anyone have luck w/ this

my 1st wife didn't like me fishing so much

Another vote for the crystal minnows. Also have caught them trolling with leadcore.

Mr Hunters got an Albie while trolling during the MV Derby last year. Maybe he will chime in.

nice memory! Sorry we are gonna miss you this year by a week.

thought we were into blues because our eels kept turning to cigars so we switched to trolling 6inch bombers, and to our surprise. WHAMO! So 4-6knts sounds about right but this went against EVERYTHING people were saying on island.

Yozuri Deep Diving crystal minnows or X-rap's. They seem to work the best, and they track right at speed, and dig enough that they don't pop on a rough day. You need the deep diving lip b/c they can hold the speed.

4 3/8" Black/Silver crystal minnow has been the ticket this year when we've had to resort to trolling earlier in the year. Another hot lure thats seemed to work when nothing else has is the green yo zuri tobimaru. Not sure exactly what size it is, about 4" or so. Troll them right about 5kts is where we seem to do best.
