boston haabah area ? hows the fishing
i am not looking for spots but just wondering how the fishing has been over all. i have not been out in almost 4 weeks (bad tides, bad weather ,vacation) are there any pogies left ? . i took this week off to fish because historicaly it has been a good week and the tides are good , sadly it looks like the weather gods are not going to help me this week , looks to be a windy week but i'm going to give it my best shot .

Still pogies around in the normal spot, at least last thursday. And in snaggable numbers if you can stay on the pod. And some nice fish both bass and blues hanging right under and with the bait, no need to travel far if a loosey day, snag and bag........

I was out in a buddy's boat yesterday 6-5. Long day but fun. Did OK including 1 40+ inch fish. Could not locate pogies or breaking fish so T&W all day was the norm...

I got two reel good ones. One was just shy of 30 lbs and the other was 25lbs. The weekend prior we ended up bring back 6 keepers. Two of those 6 were also good size. Bait is tough to find right now. I am hoping someone has some insite on where it is being held up.

yeah bait has been tough. netting in the usual spots. but yeah im into the snagging in another. took them a while to pack up. lots of giant bluefish, and some nice bass mixed in with the schools. one pod will have blues, one will have both, and another will have nothing but bass. all fishing within about 50 yards of the shore. suprised at the lack of knowledge of the surfcasters and pogies. i threw a snag hook to one, he had no idea what i was doing.. and he was into fish for the next 2 hours. after tossing him a wired one.
chunking is spectacular too. usual spots. yoyoing whole dead and 3waying chunks on the bottom.
these 2 weeks have made up the bulk of my bass season, kinda sucks..

Its just about in full swing now. Yesterday we loaded up with bait right away, fished the first spot and my buddy took a 30 lbr. right away, some smaller bass and lots of blues too. The blues were getting thicker so while moving to another area we came across a blitz of bass and bait. These were small bass around 20-30 inchers. Finally we got to the spot we intended and hit bass right away. My buddy had the hot hand and took a 28 lbr, a 27lbr and a couple in the low 20s. I was still trying to break 20 with one or two fish that came over the rail. Then while trying to pull out a small bird nest ZIIINNNNNGGGGG off it went luckily the tangle came out with the run and the fish was on. This one came over the rail at about 32 lbs. Released to get bigger !!!! All in all about a 15 fish day. My buddy kept only 1 for the grill and braggin rights...
So to answear the question of this thread, I think the fall run is now officially ON !!!! Now I just need more time to get out there again.

Todays catch, finally.
Couldn't find the pogies, wound up blind casting the rips, and caught it on top water plug.
Not a monster by any means, 39"-27lbs. but tonight's dinner.
