abu garcia 5000

with graphite rod, the rod is a little banged up but could someone tell me what this reel is worth its brand new just came from store had 9.99 cent price tag minus 10o/o 8.99 i got whole thing for!! looked like a bargain but i cant find this type on garcia web sites!!

i think thats the one with bushings not bearing so its probally not more than $50. maybe less. they have ones like that at walmart, all bushings. bearings good, bushings bad.

live to fish. fish to live. rod tips high.

Christian's on the money... Good flOOking rod but not an good caster... I would upgrade the drags if you are going to do bahhsss & Blooohs with it...

Drag washers very easy to change. Mike T has smoothie and extreme smoothie drag washers. They need to coe apart whne you clean the reel anyway so wy not swap washers......

Yeh, the drags are easy to swap when cleaning. And it's not that it's a BAD caster just not one of the better ones and it does take longer to break in with the bushings...

this reel

i would like to set it up for down the thames type fishing real lite line for jigging split tales any ideas for rod type and line! never used a bait caster except to drop it down and jig alittle thanks what is the real purpose of bait casters!!
