Pandora(music), Slacker(music), Boston.com(news), Buzzed(restaurant and nightlife) and Pocket Express(news, sports, etc..) are the ones I use most and all are free. For weather, Be Weather is the best I've used and it costs about $10. For a free basic weather app, try Weather Eye.
