Any idea if this will be the "long" Crazy A show? Last year was great but he just ran out of time. Great show either way and I will definitely be there. Post up if you think you are going. Looks like there would be time for a "pre-game" if there is any interest since it starts at noon. Early lunch maybe? Or planned post-game gathering?

If anyone is planning on going, I'd say get your tickets early - it's always a sell-out

I put my check in the mail Friday so's not to forget with all the holiday hoopla between now and then

Last year's show was EXCELLENT with Mike Laptew and the Crazy One...

Really looking forward to this year's presentation

Here's a look at just some of the locations I'll share with you.

I think that this year's EBA show is going to blow you away -- if the gales of 2009 haven't already. Despite a difficult year for filming, between all the wind and wet weather, I managed to get some outstanding footage...not just beauty shots, I'm talking about specific and detailed underwater images of some pretty famous fishing locations.

Check out this HD preview:

I got this email yesterday from the East Bay Anglers about a new development for the show:

This is exciting news for people who already have tickets for the Sunday
January 10 East Bay Angler show, and those who don't.

A unique new capability has been set up for this show that has never
been done at fishing shows. It rates with the change from slides to
video as far as significance goes.

The Barrington High teacher and students who run the video technology
have developed a multi-camera system that will carry close-up views of
on-stage demonstrations to both the auditorium audience (with an extra
screen on stage) and into the cafeteria, where it will be seen on a
giant TV screen. Thus, if Alberto shows you a rig or lure, it will be
seen closeup to the audience.

This new development changes the whole world of speaker involved events
If you already have tickets, great. Come early.

If not, you can ask me to hold some for you. (call 245-8375)

Man, I'm pumped - this is gonna be like Woodstock for fish-heads - I can't wait -

I had a great time at the show. Mike and Albertos presentation was great! I even won the door prize. Nice rod and reel, and picked up a yellow Gibs darter at the rafle. All in all a nice way to spend a cold Sunday afternoon.

Mike and the Crazy One put on a great show - as always, a big thumbs up to those guys......and thanks for getting the blood going on a frigid afternoon

Good motivation to start the new year and go through my checklist for the coming season

I'm anxious to get the DVD Mike has coming out in February - the footage of the albies cruising in formation in slo-mo was incredible

Ran into - JohnR, Johnny Habs Jr who I heard is gonna have his website active pretty soon......and Uncle Pt Jude Joe who was getting blitzed at the Pt Jude table......and the rest of the Usual Suspects, too

Sat through the seminar with piemma and picked up an excellent autographed print from Alberto - yup, it was a great afternoon...

Good morning JohnR and the rest to the Striped-bass clan… I just want to say that I had a great time and it is always a pleasure to shoot the breeze with my old buddies (and meet a few new friends). Laptew’s presentation was great and I am also glad I had the opportunity to display the new Tactical Anglers clips.

All in all, thank you Will Barbeau for having me.

Yeah, he is, Paul

In fact, if I know I'm going to be out in public I'll give Mac a shout so he can walk in first as a decoy...

First time I ever saw someone take the time to send a thank you note with the tickets.

The stage set up was great and how fast they handled the door prizes at the end.

Same her Ian. I didn't even know you were there until I checked the Board this morning. I left the house early yesterday for some errands before the show.

Next time for sure and this coming Fall either The Block or Montauk and we'll drag Chuck with us.

A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED!

I want to thank everyone who attended the EBA show and I'm glad to hear I got a little blood pumping with some of the underwater footage.

I was a little under the weather myself, especially after a marathon three days of editing with practically no sleep...I hope I sounded enthusiastic about the material I was sharing.

I know I was a little heavy handed on the underwater footage of stripers and tog, but more times than not this season I was underwater chasing fish or trying to record what the bottom structure looked like. I figured you could always see rods bent over any Sunday morning on ESPN, but getting to see the fish we care about swimming around the spots we fish is a tad more interesting....at least that's my take on it. I know someone I can spend a day with and show you what it looks like to land 800 pounds of bass...but I think that after four or five fish that gets a little old. I'm still working on getting a fish to eat in front of the camera -- I'll take footage of a lure, chunk, eel, whatever -- and next year is the year for that. My goal is also to film the largest bass ever recorded and I'm pretty confident I'll be able to make that happen. I'll also be on the hunt for tuna underwater.

I'm making a major investment in new technology and my new camera will be able to record high definition images in moonlight. I promise you topside and underwater images the likes of which have never been recorded. You have to keep raising the bar each year.

Who knows, 2012 might be 3-D for a real immersive experience.

Thanks again for coming and sorry if I didn't get a chance to say hello, or you found me in a corner with that far away look in my eyes -- I could have been sleeping.

Those of you who missed the show can catch me and Crazy Al at the Worcester Show in February for a totally different Advanced Saltwater Seminar series with Capt. Blain Anderson, Capt. Jim White, Capt. Dave Chieffo with a serious agenda of hard core tips and techniques...I'll keep you posted.

Mike

Mike thanks to you and Alberto for putting on a great show! I didn't catch all of it as I was in the cafeteria but what I saw on the big screen tv was great. It was nice to start the new year and see all the fishers out and about.Oh in case anyone was wondering.... it was confirmed for me that Thresher sharks DO JUMP!

Dive down behind a big rock, with a fishing rod and drift eels underwater. That would be fun to see.
