Cutco Filet knife

pretty sweet - just came in last week but just opened the box... Victor (TT) put me on to it and finally picked one up:

I have been using mine for 5-6 years now and I love it.
Cuts great and stays sharp.

got the same one...have had it for 2 years, great sharp blade. I like everything about it except if you try to pull it out of the sheath with it still snapped you can pull the blade right out of the handle...

I have one and all though its a decent knife I'm not overly pleased with it. They get dull quick and the blades rust badly. I've actually had them replace it twice via warranty, which they were good about.

Not cheap...its a good knife but I also find it needs frequent sharpening but so does my other filet knife so it might be the nature of the thin blade?

I've had mine well over 10 years now... Cutco even replaced the blade when I snapped it in 2 trying to toss a bass carcus back into the drink

Do yourself a favor... get the chefs choice knife sharpener... any $2 knife becomes a razor. FAST.

I had the snap open a few times when I was wearing the knife on my belt, once losing the knife(they did replace it after a lengthy dispute). I thought it was going to be suitable for the surf and liked the line cutter feature, but the sheeth isn't up to it. Nice knife though.

I have this one and it has sharpened blades I thought were junk. Alot cheaper than the chefs choice.

Got mine about 2 years ago. Solid knife. Never had any issues.

I have the big family set
That comes with 8 steak knives
I love the Cutco blades and the scissors
Can’t tell ya how much stuff I have cut with those
Used the scissors to cut in my Dri-deck on the boat
Cut like paper
I have looked at the Filet knife probably will buy now
Have sent back the set twice for broken tips wife and son used as flat head screw drivers
Came back new! Im happy with them

Which model chefs choice knife sharpener is good for cheap money. I see they have many and are pricey.

The one that is one step up from the base model is really good. I've owned 2, the first one lasted well over 10 years. The abrasive wheels eventually wear, but I abused the heck out of it...

Love mine take good care of it rinse off remove air dry blade etc. have not had a need to sharpen it yet. But that probably speaks more to the amount of fish I fillet instead of the blade itself.

Electric Carving Knife...You'll never use a filet knife again...Cuts through everything, fast and neat. No sharpening required...Been using one a few years now and won't go back..

Is it still made in the US? Grew up with a set of their knives and they are still going. They must be 40 years old.
