Carrying a bogo 60lb.
Ive never even picked one up but lookin at the pics they are a big bigger. How many of you guys carry them? The extra weight seems manageable. I do like how they describe the boga's as being easy to read . Ive also heard tale of a curse that follows people that upgrade to the 60, a curse of only needing the 30.

Why do you think you need a 60?

Well one reason, i got a good one a month ago and it bottomed out the 30 real quick. I dont know how much my PB weighed from a couple years ago 49" and fat. Its water under the bridge now, but when i get another i want to weigh it on the water and not at a shop if its possible. Being C&R 99% of the time it would be nice to get an accurate weight of bigguns.

It was a serious question...I just can't imagine carrying that thing around thinking I'm going to hang a 40 off it in the surf. If the fish is going home it's going home, and if it's not I'm not going to want to lip it anyway.
That being said, I carry the 30 in a sleeve on a retractable leash and it's worked well. But the 60 is big.

That was a serious answer to your question. Looking at a comparison in another thread that thing is pretty big. I dont mind having the 30 hang off my belt but the 60 looks like it would be rather uncomfortable just hanging around, and the way i have my belt set up im not sure if the 60 would be a good fit horizontally. I dont think the weight would be as much of an issue as the length of it.

Length issues can also mean it's too short. Was she laughing when she said it?

I have a generic cabelas brand 50# scale... nice, strong spring grip, and after 3 years of use, its still accurate within half a pound (I test it) and its only 29 bucks... the 60 boga is like a little league bat... forgetaboutit
