Lowrance gps/sonars

I was never a fan of Lowrance but their new units have me re-interested. I was looking at their top-of-the-line unit http://www.lowrance.com/marine/Products/LCX-104C.asp which has some very interesting featues (recording for one) and a really nice 10" screen. Anyway while I was at their website, I came across their demo page,

http://www.lowrance.com/Software/PCSoftware/demos.asp

They don't have the 104c but if you look for the LCX-16 model you get the look and feel of it. It is pretty cool. You can download maps and emulate the unit on your PC...Feels like i am fishin!

How about checking out this one : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=38631 It will run you a lot less than the 104, wink-wink nudge-nudge

I like Furuno's too. esp thier fishfinderI don't think I could bring myself to buy one over ebay though... WAIT A MINUTE!!! Linesider tech !?!

Why are you selling that and how did you get your paws on it?

After using the 10" VGA/TFT screen last summer (on the Gramin unit)I think I am addicted to screen size. I have to find a way to squeeze it in.

Besides I would never buy from some guy on ebay from RI with 0 feedback!!! LOL!

I just got a new Lowrance LCX15CI. The screen is smaller than the one you mentioned, but I love it. I am interested in the recording features. I plan on saving my drifts over my favorite reefs, and making a map of those reefs at home with a CAD based software. I got the Navionics chip for it, and have been impressed with the amount of detail available. The chip has so much more info then the software that comes with the Lowrance units. It even has tide and current information as well as sun and moon rise/set for the area you are fishing. I only wish I could afford the bigger screen size. Maybe next year

The only problem I have with the all in one units...is that when you display everthing ....everthing gets so small it becomes to difficult to see. Don't get me wrong I like the units and the recodring features to the solid state memory cards are really cool but I need to see it all. Personally I like the sounder on all the time as well as the chart plotter...so I am leaning towards two separate units at the moment just so I can see them.
I might go all in one but I have have to get the 10" I wish they had a output to a VGA screen...I would dump it to a 17" flat panel.

The technology sure is getting better and cheaper.
