Bumper crop of acorns.

There is no wind at all right now and they are rolling down the roof at least 1 a minute. Looks like another good year for em.

Everything is better on the rocks.

I see a ton of them already as well.a bumper crop of acorns means a hard winter ahead. The dry summer has the oak trees shedding them at least a month early.

Anyone know what the farmers almanac forecasts?

no steady rain this summer

it might indicate a wet fall coming

in 2008 it rained for several weeks straight during the summer

squirrel populations seem down....or fishercat /coyote populations
are up... i haven't seen a single rabbit yet around here!

Maybe this is the year we get a hurricane! I also have tons of acorns in the driveway.

Raven, there are 4 rabbits that live in my yard. I took a bunch of branches and stacked the in the woods behind my house. With that said the red tailed hawks fly low through the yard.

Yesterday, I saw a red fox in the backyard, cool site...
Hopefully I get a chance to do some pre season scouting for deer this year?

Can't wait to see the racks!

Plenty of squirrels & chipmunks, which will mean more predators like hawks, foxes & coyotes.
It's that darn "circle of life" thing.

The last time we had weather like this was around 1994, and if memort serves me right, it was a bumber year for fishing as well.
