Lathe stands??

Anyone use them, instead of a table?

I'm pressed for space and was thinking this might be a good way to go.

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks guys.

Mobile stands are great for a small shop but with a lathe look for one that is rock solid and heavy. Lathes need a good solid base or you are going to get vibration which can cause tool chatter. Find one that has retractable casters and you could always weight the stand when in use.

I have both Jet lathes on Jet stands. The feet splay quite a bit so I'm not sure I'd call them space savers. It does allow the lathe to stand at the proper height (my benches are too tall for a lathe).
