Quick Fix

Thank God for electrical tape.

Got out this am early. Had a good idea where I could find 1/2 decent fish based on a trip the day before. Because of difficulty lugging stuff around with crutches I had only brought one rod. First drift produced a mid-teen fish. Kneeling to release it my sadly ample gut pinned the rod against the gunnel and popped it. Rather than quit, I cut a guide off and fashioned a splice by overlapping about 8" and taping tightly together. It got tested immediately with another teen fish and held up fine. Next drift did even better. Fished out the morning throwing plugs as heavy as 3.5 oz without an issue.

The moral?

No need to diet as long as you carry electrical tape.

Bon appetite

Sounds like a good morning but gimme a break....I think I got you beat in that dept!!

Probably would have been better to put that broken part back on acid wrap style to do away with the torque, I still haven't made an acid wrap yet, will someday but just looks funny.

Overwrap the tape with some black thread Apply finish and the repair will be permanent!

Congrats on getting out there with the bum leg. Be careful though!

Showoff.

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

Funny you should mention the electrical tape.....forgot it this weekend and needed it about 6 different times. Felt so lost without it!
