Newport RI

The Bass fishing is really starting to pick up.Have been doing really well in the morn and eve.All schoolies so far but the big boys won't be far behind!
Sachuest pt. and the Drive have been consistent producers.

Beachwalker,
They showed up a little more than a week ago.
And yes I imagine the Jamestown area should be producing.

schoolies

Buzz-erd,

Thanks. I live out on nantucket, we get 'em much later. Schoolies are here but just about to show numbers. Water is warming quick and, you are right, big ones not far behind. I'll be keeping up with you folks for when the first sizables appear.
Hopefully they won't be covered with oil this year.

Thanka again

I got my first fish in the Bay tonite. Not bad....4 at about 22-24".
Actually in Mt.Hope Bay off Common Fence Pt. in Portsmouth.
The Crippled Herrings and Kastmasters realy seem to work well for me.

A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work

Surf,
I do most of my fishing from shore.Actually South shore shouldn't be bad.I don't know if the oil spill is affecting anything there, oil was spotted.I've been concentrating in the Newport area and the fishing has really picked up.Any day now and it should be in full swing.

P.S.If you using artificials try Crippled Herrings or Kastmasters.I use'em almost exclusively and do very well with them throughout
the year.Otherwise stick a real herring on a hook!
