ARUBA Fishing Charters
Well its offical, Me and my Fiencie are Doing a Destnation wedding in Aruba next year, 12-12-12, cool date. We are going to the DIVI DIVI all enclusive resort, but while im down here i am going on a few fishing charters. My question to you guys is, who has fished aruba on here? I plan on doing a offshore trip just because iv never caught a fish with a bill, and seems like a good time. ( from what i have seen on internet there are a few good charters out of aruba but i am concerned that they say OFFSHORE but they really are just trolling around spreaders and catching small cuda and skipjacks, thats not what i want. I want a reall deal offshore sportfish charter. Also while i am down there i want to do a flats, mangrove light tackel charter. I think i found one that i am going with, its fly fish aruba and they guy supplys all tackel and picks you up at hotel for $260 for a half day!!! If any of you guys know a captian down there or recommend any please let me know!

I am down there that week every year. We do the offshore thing. A lot of wahoo some billfish and a tuna thrown in. Most boats take you to the north side. We go with captain Monty. I have his number Ill pm you. Good captain. If you want to keep your fish let them know up front because most charters sell the catch to the local restaurants.

I think Billy Major charters down there in the winter. That dude can fish.I stayed at the Divi Phoenix last year and will never stay at another hotel on the island. If you can find a pole there are promising spots within walking distance.Put El Gaucho on your short list for eats.

if you walk down to the tamarijn (next door, typically included on same all inclusive), there's a sandy point and a big bowl that forms (some years, not always) south of the bunker bar. you can catch snook in the surf there. storm shads and small bucktails (flats jigs work well). just grab a travel rod that can handle up to 3/4 or 1 oz. i've also raised a few fish on topwater here, but never landed one. there are some good size barracuda in there too, but i haven't caught one.
if you rent a car, there are some good looking mangrove areas down by the airport. there's also a small outflow just outside of the capital that's full of barracuda and some jacks.

i cant wait, I deff plan on bringing my own set down so i can try and see what i can catch, im thinking small lures and a bunch of tins and sofplastics, as far as venturing out how safe is it? How are the locals? I would love to venture out and try to find some creeks our outflows and catch some snook or whatever at that matter.

This August I did a week down there and fished the FlyFish Aruba flats deal...Guy's name is Laurenz. He puts in next to the Radisson downtown and motors south and works his way back with the wind. Yeah...Plenty of wind. He had light tackle Sage travel rods and Shimano Sustains. If you can pack your own rod and reel do. 7' that can throw 1-1.5oz is plenty. He used 20lbs and 30lbs Power Pro on his stuff.
I also did an offshore trip on the Hatts Off also right next to and across from the Radisson. Nice boat, Capt and mate.
Both are on the web and will email you back if you ask specific questions. I recommend you do that to be sure expectations are met when you go.
Have fun...

There are several threads on Aruba, in the "fishing Destination" section on Noreast, if you want to go search for them.
