Unhappy Mirage 34 bites the dust

No it is not mine but it is sad none the less.

There was a nice Mirage with twin 300OB's for sale on THT site not too long ago. You can see it here: Bummer 34 Mirage has to go. - The Hull Truth - Boating and Fishing Forum_)

I think it sold for close to 60K or so but the really sad part is when the new owner was bringing her to her new home...this happened:

Driver loses boat in accident on I-10|WOAI: San Antonio News

I bet you can pick this one up cheap from the insurance co.

I can tell you this is no easy boat to trailer on the highway. I have a triple axle trailer for mine as well and without a really good towing vehicle (like a duramax dualie set up) this is a white knuckle deal at high speeds. I would not take mine on the highway with a standard truck, you need a towing vehicle. I have pulled it out and made very short runs with it but ...I just can't imagine driving over the Bourne bridge with this...That is why I paid to have it shipped up from FL.

Is your Mirage at Niemic's this winter?
If so - great boat. I was checking her out last week while we were down there for some engine work.

no... mine is over here this year. Was there for the hurricane earlier this season. The fellow who is in there is out of Point Judith, I have met him a few times over here and had a looong chat about the boats...he is a good guy.

technically you need a wide load permit for 11' beam but it is do-able.
