Live Herring

Any recomendations on where to purchase live herring today. I'm in Boston heading south towards Plymouth or Weymouth?

I don't think you can purchase live ones. You usually have to get town permits to net your own herring out of various herring runs. you might be able to get fresh dead ones at some tackle shops though. Its not the end of the world if you can't get em, the big boys will still hit artificials, especially if you aren't fishing the middle of the day. best of luck.

Thanks, I have never used herring before. So I guess I will try and get some fresh dead ones and chunk them.

Friend of mine found LOADS of herring outside plymouth harbor last weekend. Get some, keep them alive, and line them for bass.

Good luck
