new guy plus two
just like to say hello from myself and my twins. i am new to saltwater fishing as i havent done so in over 30yrs .been freshwater for for 9years with my boys and they decided they want to try saltwater this year so weve been trying to get new gear for it.still need some terminal tackle tackle to get for the season.i want the boys want to start off with fishing for fluke as to get the feel for the bigger fighting fish they hopefully will encounter.been reading some of the forums for tips and such and liked the info ive read so decided to joined up.do you guys have any stickers and or apparel that we may want to get .im excited and surprised the youngsters ask for the change to saltwater.well im rambling so ill give it a rest for now but looking forward to this sight. thanks k

going out today for our first saltwater trip. boys want to go for tautog so heading out this mid-am.ill do alittle striper fishing too while there.mike at cct gave us our info/advice so we should be set for an afternoon of fun. let you know later how day went. k

nothing first day down at shell point in onset so went to mass maritime the next day, thought we had some (crabs half eaten) didnt know to set hook hard or just start reeling in.saw few seals in canal.boys had fun and yup they are hooked on saltwater fishing now.after awhile they decided to hunt crabs under rocks and said want to go again soon.

I'll give it to you, you certainly put your time in last year. Even times that you should have called it a day.....
I remember one morning in the pouring rain with thunder and lightning all around , in waist deep water with 11' rods, waiting for the other to flinch.  Not doing that again.

But at least afer the 6 mile bike ride, the rain stopped and sun came out bright...
and to Kvn4 -just a heads up-if its 2AM and the kids are cold and tired because theres no fish around- It IS ok to have them sleep on the bench while you and your friends fish...it might take you out of "father of the year " contention but it all works out in the end...by the way how old are your kids? My boy is 11 and he's pretty good teaching younger kids , but he's got a bit of an ego issue from going large all the time....we would be happy to try and help out.

they are 12yr old twins.they are waiting for the fluke to start for now. like i said were all new to saltwater.when its warmer.
