How SeaWorthy is this????

Hi guys,
here you see a picture of my 1st boat EVER and i was wondering where i could safely take a boat this small, i mean could i drive out to the vinyard or nantucket or do i really need to stay close to shore and not venture more thatn say .25 mile plus theres the safety check list from electronics to driedbeef and K rashions...
please add whats missing or remove whats not needed...

well thats all i can think of right now, thanks for what ever help is offered.....i don't feel like taken her out and capsizing her with out SOME WAY helping myself
i know all to well the dangers of the sea not to mention i have a wife and handsome new son 2.5 months that wants me home safe every time.
