pluggin' bag?????

laying the fly rod down for a spell- started turning plugs....
gonna start heaving those things this weekend!!!

Question....... when I'm fly fishin', I carry three boxes loaded with about 75 flies(never know when ya might use em all up).....how many plugs (and jigs and tin) do you carry when walkin' the beaches....... the bag I have would only carry around 12 or 15 plugs......

thanks

No matter how many you carry, you usually find yourself using the same 3-4 plugs on most outings.

Most plug bags have big enough inserts for you to "double up" on plugs per insert. Two Bombers, or two needlefish, will usually fit in one insert. Your bag is big enough.

Unless I expected to run into a pack of blues, I could walk the back beaches at night very comfortably with 6 plugs. Two needles, two Bombers, and two metal lips. I'd stuff some Big Rubbah rigged on light heads between the inserts and fabric, carry a spool of leader material and a small Plano box with spare snaps/swivels in my jacket, and a spare reel spool in a side pocket on my bag, and I'd be set.

Needles, I like olive/silver, pink/silver and black/purple.

Bombers--yellow/white, pink/silver, olive/silver and black/purple

Metals--olive/silver, "Fixter creamsicle" and black/purple.

Can ya tell I like olive/silver and black/purple?
