I do not believe there are any plans for it. Last year we had the Crafty benefit in its place and this year Dave was tied up running the GoTight.net tourney.

Anyone know if there’s a chance they might bring the Habs tourney back?

Maybe his brother Jeff might get involved. Talk to the Salt Water Edge crew.

With the atmosphere around the striper population, release mortality concerns and the slot limit, a lot of striped bass tournaments have gone the way of the dodo (at least the previously successful ones anyway.) Also, most all the guys I have spoken to who used to run tournaments have no interest in running them any longer due to negative perception even of the c&r format.

This fall the Edge ran perhaps the only way I can see one proceed right now in that there was no emphasis on the size of the fish entered to win prizes. While the sentiment is great and I participated, I know a lot of guys who found it hard to find the motivation to participate in light of the lottery format.

^^^^ This.

Maybe next fall we can do a Beach Cookout Tourney or something. It might be nice to have a Habs/ PJJ / Crafty / Don M and all the others that have left us some-type-remembrence . Not a knockdown kill Tourney but get together, have some fun, go fishing after.
