I'll tell you one thing, that girl is a trooper. Sprinkles, JohnR, Got Stripers and myself fished with her in some snotty stuff and she held her own. Oh,, we got the big donut, until GS nabbed a little guy on the way home.

Always great to see old friends and meet up with the new faces and the older ones I just hadn't met yet. Great cookout. Barbara and Mike have a great shop, great family, great dog, what more could you ask for?
I listened and learned more, asking questions about my new Abu 6501. JohnR, Pasngas, and Mike have me narrowing down my choice of rod to get for it. Held off on the Nautil Mitchell 6500 spinner until I get the baitcaster squared away. But I was drooling....
I bagged out of the trip out to the end of the Cape. T'was a good hardcore crew headed out, can't wait for that report. Also gonna be interested to see if SF made it to the boat in Plum Island at 0700 this morning.... Clammer's dead on about those eyes. Girl earned her stripes last night!
Me, as we all headed out to fish, my wipers refused to work...screwed. so I headed north before it got too dark. Fortunately the rain let up as I got further north. Around the point of no return, the wipers came on So I fished til 2230 up here, alone, with nuthin' happenin but the rain.
Went out again at 0500, got two around 34", but no witnesses and outta bounds so..... one coming home for dinner!
Hey Link, glad we got to your truck in time. Glad to know you check your oil, but don't forget the rag next time
Oh, and Salty, thanks for the raffle contribution. I was a winner of two of your plugs!

fished around until about 2:30 or 3:00. Wahlie, T-Bone and myself got the skunker, while Strider took a small bass on a needle. that was the only hit any of us got! the lightning finally got the best of us and we called it a night. i planned on getting up for dawn, but i was just too tired. as usual, another 0-for on the leg for me.....

...was running service calls yesterday....and thinkin to myself...
"those poor basstuds, RAIN AGAIN!!"...
With rain that hard, the fish would've stayed in the lower water columns...Anyone chunk besides redcrbbr??...I'm guessing the chunkers/eelers had the better luck.

Hooters, Hooters, Hooters,
We went ot the sands, and it was highly unproductive. Mung out at the south entrance, Clean flat water out of thee north side. Damn Hummer convetion out there, and I'm not talkining the P-Town kind either. One guy had enough light to light the city of Boston, most were not even aired down. The trail out to the beaches were rutted to crap because of it.
We left there and hit the exit6 rest area for gas and goodies. We decided to try the ditch for a bit. SF decided she was gonna head home. We were a little worried this being her first trip down this way, with a long way still to go home. Well she called us on the cell to let us know she had goteen home ok. John and I checked the time, and were amazed at how fast she got home. Bob managed a twinkie, I lost a tail to a splitail to a BLOO. Chris jigged up a lob, and that was our fun for the evening.
Thanks Mike and Barbra, Mr & Mrs Pasngas, IFISHGIBBS, and his dad for manning the grills.
By the way Congrats to Saltheart on a fine 1st place grabbing ditch fish of 41 1/2" . The bar is getting higher and higher.....
Oh and that 1208 is SCHWEET.

Cookout was great and it was good seeing everyone again, weekends are for the ducks it seems now. Long way out to the end of the state, but it wasn't to be. Had what felt like a decent fish on first cast at the ditch, but it came unglued at the end, just two other rats before I'd had enough of the wet, fog and wind. Bring on summer please, I'll gladly take the hot doldrums now.

In case you missed the other post , I hit them good Friday night. 4 nice fish with one at 41.5" for the 4 leg tourney. Sorry to hear you guys drove all that way for a skunk. That's fishing!
Had a great time at the barbecue. food just gets more and more and better and better. Good to see everyone.
Good Luck with the new rod and the new reel Specialist. AllStar 1208 , BG7000CL and 50 LB Spectron. Definitely a deadly Canal setup you got now!!

all i know is that someone left a pair of wading shoes in the back of my truck.

The cookout was outstanding. Beef tips were excellent! And always - strawberry shortcake!
M&D's were gracious hosts - nice meeting both of you. It was fun fishing with MR Macey, Russ, Bliz, Red, Katie, and Dave - Thanks for taking us to that area. Unfortunately the winds and fish didn't want to cooperate. The highlight of the night had to be watching someone stroll through DD's. It would have been nice to fish that last spot but not with that weather. Hope everyone got home safely. By the time I was on 95 S it was raining so hard it sounded like hail. The lightning was flashing right in your eyes and thunder was immediately following.
Tough drive for a while. By the time I hit the CT border the roads were almost dry.
Good to see everyone again.
When is the next leg?
PS Red - aren't those your shoes that you lent to Bliz?

Was a enjoyable time, not fishing, but chatting it up. Fished hard all night with Don Corleone and I Live in VT. The Godfather was the only one that landed anything all night, and he was smart enought to leave half way through it.. The food was excellent as well as the hospitality of Mike, especially yesterday morning as I shot the breeze for a while. Glad to find out that my grill worked.
I do feel a little guilty though because I hoed my first plug. John (I Live in Vt) was gracious enought to hook me and Don Corleone up with a custom, home made blue/black/purple needle fish right out of his tackle bag. And judging by the markings on it, I would say it has caught many a fish before. Just hope I don't ruin its mojo.(Thank you John)
It was a pleasue to actually see what some of these names I talk to everyday actually look like....Some I wish I hadn't. It amazed me to see how many other people are as dedicated to catching fish as I am and the diversity of ages as well.
Seems the fish knew there was a man hunt going on for them this weekend and left town. I think clamdigger told them. I'll find the fish tonight though.
Looking forward to the next leg. Thank you for putting it all together JohnR.

Redlite...great fishing with you guys. Driving home, I was second quessing my choice to quit (my shoulder wasn't), and I thought I'd be seeing posts about some thirty pounders you two got into late night. Thanks for keeping them honest.
I too thoroughly enjoyed my first plug ho'ing. Thanks for the plug l.i.fish. It will surely see some time in the water, and this bastage definitely appears to be battle tested.
After reading all of these posts, I'm feeling a little better about the 24'' I managed to put on the beach. I dropped another one of approximate size as well right around sunset. Go figure that any semblence of a bite would shut down with the darkness.

Glad you guys had fun. I was playing single dad of 3 for a long weekend. Was supposed to get some help and was hoping to take my eldest daughter out for some fish, but my "help" fell thru.
Not sure how single parents can do it... they are better people than I am. I made it thru all right, but was at the end of my rope when my wife got home after just 3 days.
I did think about you guys though when watching the weather. Not sure we are gonna get a break.
Anyway sorry the fishing was slow.

Hey Gang,
Sounds like you didn't have much more luck than my crew had. Except for Saltheart, nice work!
As always, thanks for the compliments guys. (This site is great for my ego.... !!!)
As for Saturday, I had a great time. I have only been out a few times this year, and each time has been rainy, cold and windy....getting used to it I think. Didn't catch anything but the most disgusting seaweed. Thanks to Sprinkles for the waders, John, Got Stripers for the extra rods. (and thanks to Chris for the comic relief!)
Saw a car fire on Rt. 3 No. around 1:30am. Completely engulfed, the smoke blocked up the entire highway. It was like coming around Turn 4 at Daytona, and suddenly there's no road and a car next to you ablaze!!! Not fun.
I've got a big YES for Nightfighter, I DID make it at 0700 in Plumb Island. Of course, after 3 hours of sleep, its not fun being on a rocking boat for 8 hrs. I spent the better part of those 8 flat on my back, pale skinned (moreso than usual) and praying for death. Next time I'll remember to take Dramamine..... (no, I didn't toss my cookies, but was sure I would) I only got in about 1 hr of fishing, more or less....sigh.
Ended up catching a sandshark and a beautiful Haddock (no pictures with the haddock, the minute I got him in the boat I almost dropped from dizziness and had to run to a chair!) but he'll look even finer on my dinner table tonight......
ps - as for my driving, it's unexplainable. I didn't even hit 80mph, and somehow ALWAYS make it home in record time. Who knew FORD made a Time Machine disguised as a ZX2???
