ROBBED!
I noticed last night and just verified. I have been robbed of several fishing rods, reels, a tackle box, and other odds and ends. I live in Quincy. If anyone haapens to notice someone in the Quincy Area fishing with quailty gear that doesn't look like they know what they have, please let me know. I have filed a report with the Quincy Police Department, which I am sure is going to do little good. They were stolen some point between Sunday night and Yesterday out of the mudroom/ entranceway to my apartment. They are the following:
10 foot white Abu Gacia fiberglass surf rod with long handle. Unique. First guide folds down.
Penn 7500 gold series spinning reel with 20 # Fireline
BRAND NEW 10 foot Tsunami rod. Tags were still on it. Was my buddy's new rod
6 1/2 foot Abu Gacia schoolie rod with White Quantum long cast reel with green Spider wire.
A green and white Plano tackle box.
They also rummaged through and took a bunch of lures, a brand new spare spool, and several other things.
I hear about it all the time where guys get stuff stolen from behind their houses, but this was out of my house. I spoke with the police and they said that if the persons who took it are caught, they will also be charged with breaking and entering. But if caught, they are going to have to deal with me after the police are done with them. Me and my boy S&W took a stroll around the hood looking in yards for them with no luck. If anyone happens to see someone fishing with this equipement or hears of someone trying to sell stuff, please notify the Quincy Police and me. I just want my stuff back. Fortunately it was not my good gear.
Thank you.
Mike V.

Man that is Horse shiite redlite !
I wash and hang my gear inside my garage after every outing but some nights I have left them on the truck and I worry to death that they might be gone in the am.
I live on nantucket so it's easier to track them down, but.....
A buddy of mine lost his gear and surfboards a couple of years back. They caught the guys but the dopey Nantuckets finest wouldn't not release it out of evidence until the court date. IN THREE FRICKIN" WEEKS ! They wouldn't take pictures and let him go fishing and lo and behold. The dirtbag who nabbed his gear got $50 dollar fine and probation.
UN-FRCKIN'-BELEIVABLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fortunatley the slimebag left the island immediately. He most certainly would have turned up drowned if he stuck around more than a day !
Best of luck with finding this loser(s).
I'll keep an eye out if some summer skippy shows up on the beach with this gear. Should I pound him/her first.
Wow, did I just say that ?

sorry to hear about your gear. that happened to my cousin down the canal a couple years back. his insurance covered alot of the stolen property. If you have renters insurance and receipts you might be able to collect some cash back. ??

Redlite, keep an eye on ebay. do searches everyday. don't limit them to equipment where the sellers are from the new england area.
A lot of times stolen goods show up with pictures on ebay.

redlite,
That is truly an unfortunate thing but I am sure whoever stole your stuff will get theirs. Like me, a few years ago on my way to a Mexico fishing trip - I had $8,000 worth of fishing goods stolen right behind my back… My reels, cameras, airline ticket and passport were stolen! Till this day, I am still regretting it but since then, I’ve been very careful with my stuff.
Don’t let it get to your skin… they will get theirs someday and I am a strong believer of that! The best you can do is to move on… tell your friends and god forbids that you should find them! If that happens… Think twice and if you are gonna do it… do it right!
For now, simply recoup your losses and treat it as a lesson learned. I wish I had something encouraging to say, but take it from a victim… You will be OK!

I had it happen to me years ago and in front of me!...
I was at the bottom of an embankment when someone pulled up, took my gear, got into a cadillac & sped off!...
Like Alberto said... consider it a lesson learned.
They'll face the music one day!
Nothing can be said to make that kind of thing okay...
Sorry to hear it happened.

I can sympathize, I had my freshwater rod and reel plus two brand new coolers grabbed out of the bed of my pick-up while I ran into a store for a couple of mins. It was over 15 years ago but it still bugs me to this day

seems like someone who knows you or from your area took it. it seems like a crime of opportunity, ask around the neighborhood, probably some kids took it. surprise they took the time to go through your stuff to look for lures and not just take everything. seriously keep your eyes open cause sooner or later you will spot your equipment driving around in someones car those rods are not that ez to carry around,it should not be that hard to spot in a car..stuff kind of big.. i just hope its not a neighbor that did it cuz if they did....
good luck and happy hunting. say hi to mr.smith & mr.wesson for me.

That Bites! You put to many hours in for this to happen, like the guys above said, the evil men do lives after them, they'll get theirs. Your welcome to any of my stuff, but I'm sure your enroute to the back beaches as I type.
Good luck in the tourney I hope you nail a fat slob tonight, and get some fish.

Nuclear goods Notaro?
I'll second the opinion that it was someone in the neiborhood or someone that has been to your apartment.

Take a spin around the local flea makets this AM and tmw. There is a big one at the Lynn Building 19 parking lot that I would check. I see lots of quality tools there that are either hot, or hawked by crackheads. That's the type of place these low lifes can fence their stolen goods......sux

redlite, that sucks!! especially when they get you at home. i misplaced or got ripped off of my plug bag while fishing ply habbah couple weeks back. special stuff to me, gags poppers from al. G.S. rubbah and fisherwomans teasers all from the msba show in march. now it will take some time to try and replace those! you say not your best stuff! but still quite a bit of money invested there. most likely some one from the neighborhood's been watching you!!
